Meg Moment
In case you don’t already know, I am definitely an over thinking. I tend to worry about every tiny situation that could ever possibly occur in the next 30 years in my life (just ask my boyfriend). Sometimes I find it hard to switch off and relax and have some ‘me’ time. I’m sure a lot of you get what I am talking about. I am not totally sure what causes mine. It is almost like a mild anxiety/paranoia that just trickles through my everyday life.
However, over the last few months I think I have found a solution. The Wreck it Journal. It is basically a grown up activity book which aims to teach the art of beauty in destruction. Each page has a different instruction and it is your job to carry out that instruction in whatever why you interpret. The opportunities are endless and I freakin’ love it! The author Keri Smith is a genius!
Not only does it give me the chance to relax and spend time doing something I enjoy, it also allows me to be creative but in a much more freeing environment. Because there is no rules I don’t have to worry about messing up and it not being perfect. It is nice to be completely free and in control over something, even if it is a tiny activity book. It is so satisfying to do something so productive yet so useless at the same time.
If you glance through Pinterest or Tumblr you will no doubt see tonnes of picture of people’s own Wreck it Journals. I feel like they were a big trend a few months ago but the fad has sort of died off but I so want to bring it back. It has definitely helped me relax and I feel like it would have a positive impact on almost everybody’s lives, especially anyone who suffers from the curse of being a perfectionists, even if it was just for creative enjoyment.
Here are a couple of my own interpretations of the instructions from my wreck it journal to help give you some inspiration for your own.
